I love Christmas Cards and this year I get to enjoy more of them with Faith over at her Christmas Card Carousel.
This year's Christmas card tormented me. I love giving and receiving cards. I love getting photo cards and seeing how my friends babies are growing. I love getting traditional cards and reading the verses, looking at the pictures.
This year I struggled with what I would prefer to send. Part of me longed to purchase beautiful cards and write notes to my friends and family. Part of me longed to take the perfect holiday picture and send out photo cards. Part of me longed to make my own perfect bi-fold photo cards using my Cricut. Last year I did a combination of photo cards, real cards, and those card that you slide a single picture into. Those are great for last minute cards by the way.
In the end. Realising that I am mother to a three year old, mother to a ten month old, wife to a 31 year old and work full time, I chose the easy option.
I did however hand address each envelope this year as I have grown to dislike my usual practise of printing labels.
These pictures were taken about two months ago. I threw a Christmas blanket into Charlie's crib, piled both boys in and just started taking pictures. I had attempted a photo shoot with string lights but it didn't go very well! I got one good picture of only one child. So it was to these cheesy grins that I returned, and I have to say I love the end result. The colors are simply stunning.
Next year? I may start making cards in February!
