At some point, you have to pause amid the chaos of life, and just accept what life is. Life at the moment is a three year old, a ten month old and two working parents. Life is a never ending cycle of laundry, an endless stack of dishes and quick easy meals.

At some point you have to pause and relinquish the idea of the perfectly baked and iced cookie that you want to make. You have to hand the kid a bowl, some milk, and some cookie cutters and just go to town. Accept the fact that making cookies with your kids will produce half the cookies, twice the mess but also four times the memories and more smiles than you could imagine.

You have to ignore the laundry pile, the dishes, and instead opt for an extra story or song at bedtime. Forget about the tupperware and throw the pan of food in the fridge so that you can snuggle on the couch and smell some soft heads.
This is life right now. It may be full of dirty laundry, unclean dishes and undone crafts EVERYWHERE, but it is also full of smiles, hugs and more joy than you could imagine.
So if you come over to my house, please step over the mess and start playing. That's just the way we roll.
