Crocheting makes me happy. I have been trying to make my life more reasonable. It is okay if I watch X Files for an hour and crochet. It is okay if the dishes wait and the laundry doesn't get folded until bedtime. It is okay to go to sleep with only a partially clean house. So a few weeks ago I picked up my crochet hook again for some amigurumi fun. I've been making hats and blankets consistently but it has been a while since I picked up my hook and worked on a fun little toy. These projects are quick and amazingly satisfying.
My sister had a big birthday this year and I had promised myself I would make this dog for her, so here he is...

He took all of three nights to make and the dishes still got done!
Then when he was done I picked up on a project I had started for Husby and was stuck on. Once I realised that I had misprinted the instructions and was missing three crucial lines it went swimmingly. Here he is

I am currently working on a spaceship for Toby but in the meantime I have laundry to do!

ReplyDeleteCan you make me one? lol
ReplyDeleteLove the ideas.. Keep them coming!
You are very talented
I didnt know where to ask, so I'll ask here, would you mind if I referred to your blog on my blog? I do not want to copy your work, but just to let mothers know that their are fun & creative things to do for us out there that can be done whilst watching TV for example.
You put it hit the nail on the head when you said "It is okay to go to sleep with only a partially clean house"
I love it because, even though I tell myself that everyday.. I find it hard to do!
Let me know.
Of course you can - the blog world has been remarkably inspiring to me as a mother (have you read "sit, relax and read" today?) - pay it forward I say!
ReplyDeleteIt's okay to go to sleep with only a partially clean house- AMEN! I'm accepting that these days, but also setting the rule that I (and the kids) must get dressed up every day- no sweats around here.
ReplyDeleteThat said, love the little animals! Do you have a good pattern for a baby hat?
they are so cute. I read back on some of your other posts your little boy is getting big and I agree read, read, read,
