Remember, remember the 5th of November

Remember remember the fifth of November
Gunpowder, treason and plot.
I see no reason why gunpowder, treason
Should ever be forgot...

Last night in this home we celebrated Guy Fawkes Day (Bonfire Night) in which we Brits remember a foiled conspiracy to blow up our Houses of Parliament and the subsequent execution of the conspirators. We do this with a big fire on which we burn a "guy", friends and food. In England it is also done with Fireworks, in Maine (a fireworks free state) we substitute Smores and Chilli!

Husby and AJ with the boys, a little deer and our giraffe! It was a warm night so no worries about the kiddos getting cold and they were all amazed by the fire. Except Toby. Toby kept running off towards the dark woods, fearless fellow that he is.
I finally found the perfect use for my Glass Dome...

Ah Guy Fawkes, we burn you because we don't like you.
Happy Guy Fawkes everyone!
